Nadine and I were lucky enough to have some great friends and neighbors help us through the process of buying, building, and moving down here back in 1991. Since then, we have learned a lot, and would like to pass some of that experience on to others like ourselves who are considering making Mazatlan their retirement home. Since probably the single biggest decision you will have to make if you decide to live here is where and how to buy a home, we thought we could help you out by putting together these pages.

First of all, we have a little advice to pass on to you about what we have learned after living here since 1991. Next we give you our opinions on the different neighborhoods in Mazatlan. Like they say in the real estate business, there are three important things about buying a property: location, location, and location. We have also set up a page whereby local real estate agents can advertise their services at no cost to themselves. In exchange for this free advertising, they have agreed to allow all of you out there to post your candid comments about their services online. This should help you find an agent who suits your needs, when it comes time to look for one. Finally, we have put together a database system, that allows agents and property owners to list their properties online, as well as prospective buyers to register their interest in specific properties. This is probably the first place you should check to see what is available in a particular area.
